Pair of 1940's Italian Benches / Settees
Excessive, decorative extras or..
Pair of small settees/window seats, from that curious transitional period of the late 1940s, probably Italian.
I love these seats and I love looking at them. Had them a while. Impractical, excessive decorative extras that no one dare sit on, or misplaced Art ?
Although of small proportions, quite delicate in form and light-weight to the lift, the benches are surprising sturdy with a good feel of quality. They show no signs of repairs or restoration structurally. The upholstery later, well executed however now again, tired and heavily worn. Our initial reaction to the timber is solid Sycamore.
