Six teak & papercord dining chairs, including one carver. Designed 1955 by Peter Hvidt & Molgaard Nielsen for Soborg Mobelfabrik.
Every once and a while you stumble across something particularly good, which typifies a movement. Mid-century, Danish, low-line, by a high end designer and manufacturer. With features and subtle touches throughout, the chairs contain so much in so little space. Confirming their status as being amongst the elite of Danish mid-century chairs. They take their rightful place in the book "Danish Chairs by Noritsugu Oda" page 83.
Refreshingly the set includes a carver ( often removed to be sold separately ). Proportionally, a neat compact, low-line chair. The condition is "good original".
Much in the same way a fine antique piece presents itself, the chairs have gently aged and a mellow calm descended.
Undoubtedly a sound investment, this is a good early, highly prized set of mid-century Danish chairs. With a certain beauty of age, the real joy of the set is their good original and honest condition.
